Every useful detail makes the hobby easier to enjoy. A collector adds the missing year to a catalog entry. Someone answers a question about a hard-to-identify Set. A seller completes a smooth transaction. A member shares a checklist that gives everyone else a better starting point.
Those moments have always made CCMF Trains stronger. With Community Rewards, they now create visible progress in your Contribution Score too.
What we built: one score, two kinds of progress
Your Contribution Score now brings together two complementary kinds of activity.
Recurring points reflect contributions that are true right now. Public Pieces earn 5 points each, Scale Models you created earn 10 each, reactions given earn 1, reactions received earn 2, and followers earn 3. Show activity also contributes: an approved show request earns 10, a show registration earns 1, and spotting a Piece earns 5. Models you help Mark Complete now earn 3 points each, while accepted feedback earns 10 and each accepted invite earns 5.
Because recurring points describe your current participation, that part of the score can change as your account and activity change.
Community Points are durable awards. They recognize a milestone or qualifying event once, save the point value you earned at that time, and keep it in your history. Completing a milestone today will not disappear from your record if you change that profile setting later.
The result is a score that recognizes both the collection and community work you maintain and the moments you have already contributed.
How it works
Start with the profile you already have
Your Account area includes several straightforward 10-point milestones:
- Choose a custom URL handle.
- Use Upload Picture to add a profile picture.
- Choose an Icon Pack.
- In Edit Profile, select Make my profile public.
- In Edit Profile, select Allow others to find me in the user directory.
- Add a Banner Image.
- Add YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter/X, or Bluesky details in Social profiles.
Each supported social profile is its own milestone, so collectors can share only the networks that make sense for them. These are one-time awards: the goal is to recognize the work of making your community presence useful and welcoming, not to lock you into a setting forever.
When a milestone is earned, a Community Points earned message appears on screen so the result is immediate and easy to understand.
Community Rewards focuses on activity that leaves the platform more useful, trustworthy, or enjoyable than before.
Share catalog knowledge
Catalog Questions & answers now work on both Scale Model and Set detail pages. Selecting Post answer earns 3 Community Points. If the person who asked the question selects Accept answer, the answer earns 10 more.
That Set support matters: starter sets, passenger consists, and boxed outfits often raise questions that do not belong on any single model inside the box. Collectors can now ask and answer in the right context while earning the same rewards available on individual models.
Other reviewed contributions count too. An approved catalog edit earns 10 points, an approved curated Checklist earns 25, and an approved checklist-member change earns 5.
Share something useful with the community
Publishing your first blog post earns 100 points. Selecting Show on my public profile for a personal checklist earns 2. Your first three approved Sticker Wall entries can earn 5 each.
These rewards cover different kinds of sharing: a detailed story or guide, a practical roster other collectors can see, or a bit of visual personality on the Sticker Wall.
Build marketplace trust and join community events
A completed sale earns the seller 10 points, and receiving a positive sale rating earns 5 more. A PieceSet sale counts as one sale award rather than one award per member Piece, keeping the result fair.
Monthly Photo Contests reward participation and achievement separately: selecting Submit entry earns 5 points, while the winning entry earns 100.
What it means for you: fairness that lasts
Community Points are designed to be predictable.
The values are defined as part of CCMF Trains' platform rules; they are not changed case by case by an administrator. A qualifying activity earns its award exactly once, even if a request is retried behind the scenes. The award also keeps a snapshot of the points granted when it was earned, so a future scoring adjustment will not rewrite your history.
We also checked eligible activity from before the launch and awarded credit where the platform had a durable record to support it. Scores and leaderboard results were refreshed so longtime participation could be represented fairly.
Your visible history stays collector-friendly: it shows what you earned, how many points it was worth, and when it happened. Internal source identifiers stay out of the page.

Open Account → Contribution Rewards, or go directly to /Account/ContributionRewards.
The page opens with three summaries:
- Total contribution score
- Recurring points
- Durable award points
Below them, Recurring score sources explains the current activity behind your score. Onboarding milestones shows what is Earned and what remains Available. Reward history gives you a clean timeline of your Community Points.
You can also start from the Dashboard: find Contribution Score and select Rewards & progress.
From there, the best next step is simply to participate where your experience can help: complete your profile, answer a question on a Scale Model or Set, improve the catalog, share one of My Checklists, post to the Sticker Wall, write for the Blog, complete a sale, or enter the latest Photo Contest.
