This raffle and fundraiser is to help out Dakman who was prepared to sell off part of his collection to pay upcoming medical bills, and (forgive me the political digression) it makes me furiously mad that we live in a country that has turned the health of its citizens into a profit center. 29% of Americans delayed taking a vacation, 26% put off medical treatment and 11% skipped meals to cover medical costs. 10% of adults say they postponed their retirement due to healthcare costs. 43% of Americans say they did not take a prescribed medicine because of the out-of-pocket cost to them. 3 million Americans have more than $10,000 in healthcare debt they can't pay.
