Why can't I edit a catalog model? What is "Propose a change"?

Because the catalog is shared by everyone, well-verified entries get locked so a single edit can't accidentally change the data thousands of collectors rely on. A lock means "this record has been checked."

Suggesting a correction

When a model is locked, you'll see a Propose a change button instead of an edit form. It opens a short form pre-filled with the current values — adjust the fields you think are wrong (name, barcode, MSRP, release year, dimensions, and similar), add a quick note explaining why, and submit.

An admin reviews your proposal and approves or rejects it. If it's approved, the catalog updates for everyone and you're notified. You can have one open proposal per model at a time.

A few things stay off the proposal form on purpose — the manufacturer, SKU, and set membership — since those affect identity and need a closer look.
